Sweet Dog Bakery is officially open at 212 W Platt Street. Ally Stasz is the founder of Sweet Dog and her pup’s name is Poppy. “I founded Sweet Dog with the mission to provide dogs with fresh, safe and natural treats that can be CUSTOMIZED to your pups personality,” writes Stasz.

The bakery specializes in custom cakes and cookies for your pet, in addition to an eye-catching tennis ball cake. This shop for pups also crafts special “barkcuterie” boxes that can be ordered for pickup. Menu options, and ingredients include:

It was right before her puppy’s first birthday that Stasz found her passion for custom dog treats. “I wanted a fun-themed cake that was fresh and made with natural ingredients like you would for a kid’s birthday party,” said Stasz in an interview with The Voyager. “When I looked into ordering one all the cakes I found were unappealing, had no personalization and I didn’t know what half the ingredients were.”

Stasz decided to find a recipe online and decorate the cake herself. This cake was a hit with the pups and humans. After that party she decided to make some human-looking dog treats like donuts, cannolis, and waffle pops and began posting them on Instagram. Flash forward to 2023 and her creations continue to captivate dog owners and dogs alike across the region.
