It’s a sad day for foodies in Ybor City. The beloved restaurant and bar Stone Soup Company (1919 E 7th Avenue) has announced it has closed. The announcement came early Monday morning on Instagram.
“Effective immediately, @StoneSoupCompany will cease operations,” wrote the ownership team on Instagram. “We would like to thank all the current and past employees, the Ybor and Tampa community, and our guests who have supported us over the last 13 years. We appreciated the opportunity to serve you all! Thank you!”

Back in 2022, former owner and CEO Ilya Benjamin announced his retirement. Following his departure, Stone Soup converted to an employee-owned model.
This spot was beloved for its Cuban sandwich, great craft cocktail list, hearty protein bowls, and overall atmosphere. It was a pre-show gem for many who love catching live music in Ybor, too.
