Shibui, a new Japanese restaurant, teases menu ahead of downtown debut

Back in July 2019, the Nocturnal Hospitality Group announced on Facebook that a Japanese restaurant called Shibui would open in the city this fall. 

The concept from the owner of The Franklin ManorLanfranco Pescante, promises to bring Vegas and Miami vibes to downtown Tampa.

After months of development, Shibui is closer than ever to officially opening. Now, the restaurant is offering menu teasers to whet local foodies’ appetites.

Items of aesthetic interest include: Sriacha demi glacé roasted chicken; 
wagyu beef filet, egg yolk, and soy marinade; shrimp ramen, prawn, Yakitori pork, skewers, and egg noodles; black seabass on Yakitori; and wagyu tartare with a cured yolk.

Other recent teasers include a look at delicious clay pot chicken, curry oxtail udon, tempura prawns, lechon porchetta, and pork spare ribs adobo.

Shibui began hiring back on January 24. An official opening date is still TBA.

According to the rendering, the concept will open at the corner of North Franklin and East Cass Street in downtown Tampa.
