Tampa’s Synergy Sweets wins Dessert Wars with guava cheesecake and pumpkin s’mores cupcakes

Tampa is a dessert lover’s paradise; that much was evident at Dessert Wars. The ultimate confection throw down brought together the best and most imaginative bakers in the region together for an entire day dedicated to treats. Once again, Tampa’s Synergy Sweets was the People’s Choice Champion. If you smell what (Synergy Sweets owner) Shonnika Denise is cooking.

For Denise, it’s just another one. Visitors were totally enchanted by the baker’s guava cheesecake, pumpkin s’mores cupcakes, and cookie butter toffee cupcakes. The owner’s desserts are matched by her own effervescence and charisma. In a crowded field of sugary delights, Synergy Sweets always manages to standout.

Their victory at Dessert Wars Tampa has punched the bakery’s ticket to Atlanta, where the Tampa-based bakery will complete for the National Championship against fellow Dessert Wars winners from across the country. Denise is an absolute force to be reckoned with, and we’re wishing her all the luck in the world when they go head to head with the top dessert purveyors in America.

Synergy Sweets heads to the Dessert Wars National Championship

Her passion for baking comes from her family. It’s the memories tied to the food that brings people together that fuels Denise to continue serving the Tampa area. In 2013, she enrolled in the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, and it’s there that she realized the possibilities that baking offered.

Synergy Sweets was born when Denise herself wanted to take control of the culinary process. That sense of control has brought forth such exquisite flavors Vanilla Toffee Cake, Red Velvet Cake filled strawberry buttercream, and of course the aforementioned guava cheesecake.
