Selby Gardens named one of the 3 Best Botanical Gardens in the country by USA Today

Marie Selby Botanical Gardens has placed third in the USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards contest for “Best Botanical Garden” in the United States. Nominees for the award were chosen by a panel of relevant experts which include a combination of editors from USA TODAY and editors from 10Best.com. Selby Gardens was one of twenty gardens selected for the Best Botanical Gardens Category. Voting by the public narrowed the list down to the top final ten.

Selby is worth the trip to Sarasota

At the Downtown Sarasota campus sprawled over 15 acres along Sarasota Bay, visitors can immerse themselves in diverse ecosystems, including rainforest, desert, and native Florida gardens. Don’t miss the bayfront mangrove walkway, offering serene strolls with breathtaking views. Just a short distance south lies the Historic Spanish Point campus, spanning 30 acres along Little Sarasota Bay. Here, delve into the region’s rich native and pioneer history while exploring well-preserved nature trails and boardwalks adorned with native Florida plantings.

General admisson to Selby Gardens is $26 for adults and $11 for kids 5-17. Admission is free for members, and $11 for member guests. 

Selby also operates a Historic Spanish Point Campus at 401 North Tamiami Trail in Osprey. You can find out admission info and operating hours online.
