Next week, Beyonce will perform live at Raymond James Stadium. That concert, similar to her 2016 show in Tampa, is set to have a major economic impact on the city. For Beyonce’s most ardent fans, the concert means so much more. Celebrated and prolific artist Cam Parker has worked diligently on a new Beyoncé mural at 1703 N Tampa Street. Now, Parker wants Beyoncé to see the completed masterpiece. A full breakdown of the process, and inspiration for the mural can be read in this great interview by The Tampa Bay Times.

“1 week until Tampa gets abducted by the Renaissance Spaceship!” writes Parker in an Instagram post. “TAG ANYONE in the @parkwood / Hive fam! And go grab a selfie with this lil freshie.”

Parker remains one of the most enigmatic and captivating visual artists in the city. You can find street murals by Parker in Tampa Heights outside the future home of Urban Hawkers, and the artist’s contribution to the Black History Matters mural outside the Carter G Woodson Museum in St. Pete.

A mural depicting Lady Gaga, a painting for Janelle Monaé, and a custom denim jacket for Lizzo are all in Parker’s repertoire. We’re here to help this local artist achieve their goal, all while adding even more beautiful art to the city. Follow Cam Parker, aka Painkiller Cam, on Instagram.
