Another day, another huge international flight announcement at Tampa International Airport. Officials have revealed that new daily nonstop flights between TPA and Mexico City will begin in July 2024. “This new service will offer convenient options for travel throughout Mexico and Latin America,” wrote TPA officials on Instagram.

Flights will officially begin July 1, and those interested in booking a trip can do so on AeroMexico’s website. One of the must-visit spots in Mexico City is the stunning Gran Hotel Ciudad de Mexico. Just gawk at its Tiffany stained glass cieling, imported from France in 1908. A striking replica of Paris’s Le Bon Marché staircase greets visitors, alongside the antique elevator, a pioneering feat in Mexico City crafted from iron and concrete.

Xochimilco is a distinguished World Heritage Site, and you can take an enchanting trajinera (similar to a gondola) ride through its canals. Glide along the waterways, traverse the artificial islands, known as chinampas, and immerse yourself in the profound heritage of the region. It’s an exploration that promises a glimpse into the ancient roots of Mexico’s cultural tapestry.

Other must-visit spots include Museo Frida Kahlo, the awe-inspiring Templo Mayor ruins, the Mercado Jamaica for lovely flowers, and my personal pick is catching Lucha Libre action at the Arena Coliseo.

Other recent annoucnements include daily nonstop flights to Panama City via Copa Airlines, and nonstop flights to The OC in California via Breeze Airways.
