Tampa Theatre screening Roadrunner: A Film About Anthony Bourdain

The Tampa Theatre, Tampa’s iconic movie palace, will screen the acclaimed new documentary Roadrunner: A Film About Anthony Bourdain. Following the film, a panel of food experts will host a discussion and Q&A. The group consists of Dallas-based chef and global foodie Michael Bell (Cowboys Club, Knife); food writer and publicist Jeff Houck (The Tampa Tribune, Columbia Restaurant Group); restauranteur and mental-health advocate Greg Baker (The Refinery, Fodder & Shine); and Proper House Group co-owner, Chef Ferrell Alvarez (Rooster and the Till, Nebraska Mini Mart, Gallito Taqueria).

Director Morgan Neville’s previous projects include Won’t You Be My Neighbor? (the highest-grossing biographical doc of all time) and 20 Feet From Stardom (winner of the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature). Neville tackles the mammoth legacy of Bourdain with elegance, and raw honesty.

Roadrunner: A Film About Anthony Bourdain is an intimate, behind-the-scenes look at how an anonymous chef with a two-pack-a-day grumble and a Hunter S. Thompson attitude became a world-renowned cultural icon. This unflinching look at Bourdain reverberates with his presence, in his own voice and in the way he indelibly impacted the world around him.

The first screening is set for Friday, July 16 at 7pm. Tickets can be ordered in advance on the Tampa Theatre’s website.

The Tampa Theatre is located at 711 N Franklin Street
