The NXT invasion continues
If you’re as obsessed with the NXT brand as I am, you’ve also noticed they do loops in and out of Tampa and St. Petersburg on a regular basis. It’s a wrestling town, y’all. NXT was previously considered a developmental brand for emerging talents both new and seasoned on the independent circuit. Now it’s its own show on the USA Network, and it’s putting on some of the best stories in the currently competitive industry.
On Sunday, April 5, Raymond James Stadium will be transformed into a massive sports entertainment spectacle. Lights, live music, pyrotechnics and a stunning display of pageantry and athleticism is set to ignite the Tampa Bay community.
Can you tell I’m a total mark?
The WrestleMania Card is still up in the air
Will Daniel Bryan revive the Yes Movement? Is Ronda Rousey ready to return for revenge on Becky Lynch? Can The Fiend continue to dominate and terrify the WWE locker room? Will Roman Reigns complete a cathartic return with one more main event? Might Brock Lesnar transform Tampa into Suplex City? I hope the answer to all of the above is a resounding YES.
With NXT emerging as a full fledged third main roster brand, Tampa visitors may also get to see some of the most exciting young talent on the sport’s grandest stage.
Tampa’s own Titus O’Neil
Secretly, this blogger is hoping Tampa’s own Titus O’Neil gets a prominent spot on the WrestleMania card. If you’re not privy to the amazing work Titus does in the Tampa community, I suggest you start following him on Twitter and Instagram. He’s doing a lot for the youth in this city and it just fills me, and the TST with pure joy.
Tickets officially go on sale Friday, November 15. Follow along on the WrestleMania website to purchase yours as soon as they’re live.
If I can fantasy book for just one moment, the match I want to see under the bright lights of Tampa is Brock Lesnar vs Daniel Bryan. Book it, WWE. Book it now.
