Tampa is rolling out the red carpet for one of its own. On Friday, March 7, Mayor Jane Castor will honor Tampa native Isaiah Rodgers with a Key to the City, celebrating his incredible journey from local standout to Super Bowl champion with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Rodgers, a 2016 Blake High School graduate, made waves on the football field long before his NFL debut. After shining at the University of Massachusetts, he joined the Indianapolis Colts in 2020. By 2023, he was with the Eagles, where he played a key role in their Super Bowl victory last month.

The ceremony will be held at 4:30 p.m. at the Hanna Ave City Center, where fans, family, and former classmates will gather to cheer him on. Blake High School cheerleaders will add extra hometown pride and energy to the celebration.
“Isaiah has not only made our city proud, but he’s shown the world what it means to be a true Tampa success story,” said Mayor Castor. “We’re thrilled to recognize him as a hometown hero and give him the Key to the City as a symbol of our gratitude for his achievements and the inspiration he provides to young people in Tampa.”
