Another major nonstop route is coming soon to Tampa International Airport. Frontier Airlines is helping expand routes between Tampa to Puerto Rico with nonstop flights to Aguadilla (BQN). Frontier’s route to Aguadilla is TPA’s first scheduled nonstop service between Tampa and the town on Puerto Rico’s west coast. Flights have officially launched, and I think we’re ready for a vacation.

“Frontier’s new nonstop service to Aguadilla will help serve both Puerto Rico and the Tampa Bay Region’s extensive community with ties to the island, which also sees hundreds of passengers traveling in each direction every day,” Tampa International Airport CEO Joe Lopano said.

The new route is in addition to the airline’s existing daily nonstop service between TPA and San Juan, Puerto Rico (SJU). With the new service, Frontier will serve a total of 19 nonstop destinations from TPA. This new service to Aguadilla begins May 4, offering another convenient option to reach the island’s west coast directly three times a week.

Experiencing Aguadilla for the first time

There’s so much to do on the west coast of Puerto Rico. At Aguadilla’s Crash Boat beach, one of the most iconic beaches in Puerto Rico, the waves of the Atlantic Ocean captivate surfers of all experience levels. This hot spot is easily recognizable by its distinctive pier. Wilderness Beach, Wishing Well, and Surfer’s Beach are among the many other local spots that are well known in the surfing community.

The Museo de Arte de Aguadilla y del Caribe (MAAC) features work from prominent Puerto Rican artists including Luis Hernández Cruz, Rafael Tufiño, Antonio Maldonado, and Francisco Cervoni. Built into and around a huge banyan tree, Casa del Árbol in the waterfront Parque de Colón is a beautiful and dreamy treehouse.

Frontier Airlines is one of the greenest airlines in the country. Supervisors have worked hard to cut down on emissions with its fleet of planes. The low budget airline has rapidly expanded its base in the Tampa Bay region, and is regarded as the second fastest growing airline in the country.

Frontier Airlines expands its presence in Tampa

Earlier in the spring Frontier and TPA announce 4 new nonstop routes to some of the best destinations in the world. These routes include: San Juan, Puerto Rico; Punta Cana, Dominican Republic; Montego Bay, Jamaica; Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

Frontier Airlines also began nonstop flights to Cancun from Tampa back in May. The 3x weekly service operates on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. This is just one aspect of Frontier’s substantial growth. Ultra-low fare carrier Frontier Airlines announced a major expansion of service, adding 27 nonstop routes, including new destinations Guadalajara and Monterrey, Mexico. The airline is also significantly growing its service from Philadelphia and Raleigh-Durham.

JetBlue also announced it would begin flights to Aguadilla from TPA in the July.
