Best Breweries in Tampa, Florida
This certainly isn’t a definitive list of the best Tampa breweries (going through every single brewery and distillery in the area would take up quite a bit of bandwidth), but consider this an introductory guide to some of our favorite breweries and taprooms. Let us know your favorite breweries in the comments! We are always looking for the best bars in Tampa.
Angry Chair Brewing
4101 N Florida Ave
A haven for beer lovers, this Seminole Heights brewery packs plenty into a small space. Known for their standout stouts, they also offer a diverse lineup with something for everyone. Angry Chair is one of the many great breweries in Tampa with food options, offering a wide-ranging menu, including specials like Italian Tuesday and $1 Wing Wednesday. We also think they have one of the best happy hour Tampa options, extending their weekday deals for all Bolts and Bucs televised games!
BarrieHaus Beer Co. (Best brewery Tampa pick for lagers)
1403 E 5th Ave
BarrieHaus is run by a family that has been making beer for over 150 years. True to their German roots, the tap list specializes almost exclusively in lagers, the smooth and crisp beers that take extra time and care to make, served alongside a great pretzel that perfectly complements the experience. The understated taproom and outdoor seating areas make it feel like a biergarten right in the middle of Ybor City.
Cigar City Brewing (One of the Tampa Bay breweries with nationally recognized beer)
3924 W Spruce St
While Cigar City isn’t an independent craft brewery, there’s something to be said for a beer known across the country that started right here at home. Jai Alai is the star, certainly, but the entirety of their Florida-themed beer list is worth sampling. The Florida Man Double IPA is worth it for the name alone (and it tastes great, too). Keep in mind that as they move to their new Ybor location later this year, the kitchen will be closed, and Spruce Street taproom hours are likely to change.
Coppertail Brewing
2601 E 2nd Ave
In a beautiful facility just outside Ybor, Coppertail’s tasting room is among the more elegant in the Tampa area, featuring a deep list of core staples and small batch experiments alike. One big reason to visit: the food. The creators in the kitchen at Coppertail consistently produce interesting (and delicious) specials on a surprisingly large menu.
Hidden Springs Ale Works (One of the best Tampa craft breweries for sours)
1631 N Franklin St
Hidden Springs can best be described in one word: funky. In personality, in presentation, and in the glass, Hidden Springs is downright fun, and just a little weird. In a good way. They offer a variety of beers, but they specialize in sours, fruited ales, and assorted creamy goodness.
Magnanimous Brewing (a standout brewery downtown Tampa visitors can’t miss)
1420 N Florida Ave, or 6809 N Nebraska Avenue
With locations in Tampa Heights and Seminole Heights, Magnanimous needs to be on your itinerary. With an excellent draft selection of hoppy and dark beer options galore, it’s easy to discover a new favorite. No matter which location you visit, you’ll find a laid-back taproom and some of the friendliest service in the city.
Sky Puppy Brewing
1313 E 8th Ave
A hidden gem nestled inside Tampa’s oldest original firehouse, Sky Puppy is one of the newer breweries in Ybor City. With a bat being the Sky Puppy’s symbol and namesake, the space is surrounded by historic brick and bat sculptures, creating a unique, artsy atmosphere for enjoying one of their many beers or a glass from their thoughtfully curated natural wine list.
Southern Brewing and Winery (Best craft brewery for alternative brews)
4500 N Nebraska Ave
Want to change it up a little bit? Southern not only makes beer, but an entire line of house-made wine, cider, mead, sodas and more. If you’re looking for a Tampa brewery that has a great space with a variety of options for everyone, this is your spot to stop.
Tampa Bay Brewing Company
1600 E 8th Ave, or 13937 Monroes Business Park
A must-stop if you’re brewery hopping, TBBC is one of the Bay’s most recognized breweries across Florida. They actually have two tap rooms in Tampa, one in Westchase and one in Ybor. Both have great beer, a full food menu, and TVs to catch a game, making TBBC a perfect Tampa sports bar. So pick whichever one is closest (or flip a coin) and stop in.
Woven Water Brewing Company
456 W Columbus Dr
Woven Water is a standout in the craft beer scene. Located near Armature Works in Tampa Heights, the intimate tasting room offers prime socializing, but the beers are truly the stars here. A tap list ranging daily from ultra-hoppy to mouth-puckeringly sour, with plenty in between. Grab some cans to go, where the artwork on the labels shines almost as much as the liquid inside.
Late Start Brewing
1018 E Cass St
One of the great downtown Tampa breweries, Late Start Brewing, is truly a one-stop shop for all your food and beverage needs. They offer a playful lineup, including fruited sours and refreshing spritzes on tap. The space embraces a diner-inspired vibe, complete with a coffee shop and a classic food menu to match. Don’t skip out on the breakfast tacos or the smashburgers!
Common Dialect Beerworks
5023 N Florida Ave
This fun neighborhood brewery in Seminole Heights focuses on small-batch brews and fostering community. With a laid-back vibe and dog-friendly patio, they host regular events and keep things lively with rotating food trucks.
Deviant Libation (One of the unique Tampa distilleries)
3800 N Nebraska Ave
One of the most unique and vibrant local breweries and distilleries, this spot is celebrated not only for its delicious beers and welcoming staff but also as a hub for events and live music, showcasing local indie artists. Stop in for a great pour, and stick around to catch a live show.
3 Daughters Brewing
222 22nd St S, St. Petersburg
For those looking to explore more breweries near Tampa, FL, 3 Daughters is well worth the trip across the bridge and stands out as one of the best breweries in St Pete. As the largest brewery in the city, it offers something for everyone—from a tasting room with more than 40 taps of beer, cider, hard seltzer, and even sangria, to a spacious warehouse stage hosting live music every weekend and regular events like trivia and musical bingo.
Mastry’s Brewing Co.
7701 Blind Pass Rd, St. Pete Beach
It isn’t a trip to Tampa without visiting Florida’s world-renowned beaches. If you’re looking for beach bars in Tampa, it’s a quick trip across the Howard Frankland Bridge to the best beaches and breweries around. Mastry’s stands out as a top brewery St. Pete Beach visitors shouldn’t miss. Like any great beach bar, the prime spot is outside under an umbrella, where beer garden meets a Gulf Coast oasis. In addition to beer and live music, their big draw is a fantastic kitchen, Pipo’s Pronto, featuring ceviche, kebabs and sandwiches, among plenty more.
