Ebisu, the sprawling Japanese megastore, is finally making its Tampa debut. Popular for Japanese snacks, games, clothing and more, Ebisu opens this Friday, August 14, at 10 am at Market Square at Tampa Palms (6234 Commerce Drive).

Founded in Osaka more than 10 years ago, the lifestyle store has exploded in popularity across the globe and has become viral in the U.S. for its Japanese snacks, toys and more. The Tampa location will be the company’s biggest store yet, opening in the former JoAnn’s space. Ebisu recently opened in Orlando, and Miami is also listed as another site for its Florida expansion.

The stores carry a big physical footprint, with massive selections including snacks, toys, video games, home goods, trading cards, and beauty and lifestyle brands. The frequently rotating products offer seasonal selections alongside curated Asian goods. Ebisu promises “a more modern way to shop Asian goods.”

“From pantry staples to social-ready finds, EBISU combines usefulness, discovery, and a cleaner retail experience in one place,” the company says.

Ebisu currently has more than 20 locations throughout the U.S., with Tampa one of the next to open as its growth continues. The new Tampa store will showcase Ebisu’s selection across more than 20,000 square feet of retail space.

As part of the opening weekend celebration, Ebisu Tampa is offering several deals, specials and giveaways. You can see the full list here, which includes free Hello Kitty wet wipes, free toys or snack packs with qualifying purchases, and several specials on food, makeup and more.
