Richard Branson arrives at TPA to celebrate the launch of nonstop flights from Tampa to London aboard Virgin Atlantic

Tampa International Airport (TPA) is regarded as one of the best airports in America. It offers great local restaurants, plenty of lounge areas, well-stocked shops, public art, and easily navigable terminals. It also wins points for the robust array of domestic and international nonstop flights that it offers to some of the best destinations in America. One of its premiere offerings is aboard Virgin Atlantic, and according to Google it travels to the top summer vacation spot, London.

The search engine technology company said the list reflects people in the U.S. searching on Google Flights for travel anytime between June 1 through August 31, 2024.

Offering more than 190,000 seats each year, Virgin Atlantic is the only airline to directly connect the Tampa Bay region with London’s hub airport, London Heathrow. The service offers easy, seamless connections for customers traveling to and from Virgin Atlantic’s worldwide destinations and partner networks via London Heathrow.

With Virgin Atlantic’s service to Heathrow, TPA is one of only four airports in the U.S. that offers passengers a choice between London’s two main airports. British Airways currently serves London Gatwick (LGW) with flights from TPA. Only New York’s JFK, Boston’s Logan International (BOS), and Orlando International Airport (MCO) currently offer service to both London airports.

Flights can be reserve on Virgin’s website, and on British Airways’ website.
