As Tampa Theatre (711 N Franklin St) finishes its historic renovations, it has announced the return of its annual Nightmare on Franklin Street series with a lineup of spooky favorites, live performances, and interactive fun this October.
The historic downtown landmark is one of Tampa’s most iconic destinations for fall festivities, and this year’s slate of shows gives locals plenty of reasons to make it part of their Halloween plans in Tampa. While many of the shows and experiences are better left to adults, plenty of movies and activities fall under the family-friendly umbrella.

From October 19-31, the action never stops with tours and movie screenings, including several double and even triple features. It all kicks off with A Nightmare On Elm Street and concludes, appropriately, with Halloween on October 31. The full lineup and individual tickets can be found here.

Ghosts of Tampa Theatre Tour: October 19-31: Who was the man in seat 308? Where did Robert Lanier tear his final ticket? Why does Fink Finley continue to roam the balcony? And what has led to Tampa Theatre being known as one of the most haunted buildings in town? Learn the Theatre’s secrets and stories with a PG-13 walking tour that will focus on the historic movie palace’s ghostly guests, preternatural patrons and eternal employees. The two-hour tour kicks off in the lobby and does include climbing stairs and extended periods of standing. Doors open 15 minutes before tour time. Reserve a spot on the tour before it sells out.
