Tampa Ranks as a Top 10 City for Runners

Tampa was made for runners. With Bayshore’s long stretch, Al Lopez Park’s loop, Tampa’s Riverwalk and numerous nature trails, local runners have an abundance of courses that keep running from getting stale. Now, Zumper is recognizing Tampa as one of the nation’s top cities for runners.

Scoring Tampa with an “A” grade, Zumper gives kudos to the city for its year-round warm weather and numerous races throughout the year.

In order to identify the top cities for runners in America, Zumper combined multiple datasets and created an index for each category. The following datasets were used: average temperature throughout the year, median 1-bedroom rent prices, acres of parkland per 1,000 residents, parkland as a percentage of total city acreage, and total number of running races in 2017.
