Tampa Asian Pacific Islander Festival takes over Curtis Hixon Park this May

Officials have announced the second Asian Pacific Islander Cultural Festival for May 11, from noon-9pm at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park (600 N Ashley Dr). This event is free and open to the public and celebrates the Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage month. The festival showcases beautiful cultural performances from various Asian countries and islands of the Pacific, delicious food, authentic API merchandise and informational exhibits.

This free, community event is hosted by the Mayor’s Asian American Pacific Islander Advisory Council.

Throughout the day, attendees can enjoy traditional music, dance performances, martial arts demonstrations, and other cultural displays. Food vendors will offer a delicious array of Asian Pacific Islander cuisine, including dishes from Japan, Korea, China, the Philippines, and other countries.

A big celebration during API Heritage Month

In addition to the performances and food, the festival also features a variety of activities for children and adults alike. Attendees can participate in arts and crafts workshops, cultural games, and educational seminars on topics ranging from history to current events.

The Tampa Asian Pacific Islander Cultural Festival is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the diverse cultures of the Asian Pacific Islander community, to celebrate the traditions that have been passed down through generations, and to come together as a community to share in the joy and beauty of this rich and vibrant culture. Best of all, the event is completely free and open to the public.
