Swamp Stomp Takes Runners Through Mud, Fire and Wilderness

Tackle the strange terrain of Florida

The run presents participants with the challenges of “real” Florida. Runners will encounter 30+ obstacles — both natural and man-made — that will challenge their ability to handle a variety of terrains.

Crawl through the mud, push through a half acre pool, dart through the woods and, finally, jump the fire line. Participants are primed to tap into all of their most basic instincts. This run will push even the most seasoned athlete to the limits. All participants will enjoy a free Cigar City beer as soon as they cross the finish line. Multiple food trucks will be on hand during the race to serve those watching the action unfold and those looking to refuel after conquering the course.

Conquer the 8k and unwind under the stars

Due to limited parking, the Preservation Society is encouraging those looking to attend to carpool to the event. There is a $10 parking fee per vehicle unless you’re registered as a camper. There’s no need to speed away once the Swamp Stomp is over. Visitors are encouraged to camp under the stars and enjoy the Florida’s remarkable habitat.

Bring a tent of a camper to the event and enjoy an overnight stay for less than $24 for up to 8 people. Interested participants/attendees are encouraged to register as soon as possible. The Hillsborough River State Park is located at 15402 U.S. 301, Thonotosassa, FL 33592.
