There are few things more satisfying than realizing you can, in fact, make an entire meal out of fries and a martini.
At Sundrop, the restaurant and bar at The Luce on St. Pete Beach (6300 Gulf Blvd), you can enjoy this classic combination as part of their daily deals and specials. Every day from 3-5 pm, their Martini + Fries happy hour brings $10 Dirty Martinis, Espresso Martinis and Sundrop Lemon Drop Martinis to the table, along with $5 sea salt fries to pair with your drink. No catch. Just the best happy hour this side of the Gulf.

While the martini-and-fries combo might be enough to get you through happy hour, you might find yourself tempted to order a little more once you see what else is coming out of the kitchen. Take their Turf & Tide, which features 36-hour slow-cooked pork belly sliced and beautifully garnished with citrus-charred shrimp, beets, and coconut curry. Or their Center-Cut Filet Mignon with braised mustard greens, bone marrow butter and blue crab croquettes with pimento. Even their Beach House Smash Burger gets the Sundrop aesthetic treatment, with a little Luce stamp that makes the whole thing almost too cute to eat. Almost.

Gorgeous glasses of specialty cocktails
Sundrop’s specialty cocktails are a photo opp in a glass. You’ll have a difficult time deciding if you want to sip or take a couple dozen pics. Their Pink Flamingo combines Tito’s vodka, Cointreau, cold-pressed cranberry and lime, and coconut, all served in a stunning flamingo-shaped glass that you’ll be tempted to take home with you.
If you prefer a less tropical flavour profile, the Frozen Aperol Spritz is a bright, frozen take on a classic, while the Yacht Club features rum mixed with banana bergamot bitters.
And if you happen to be there around sunset, stick around. Sundrop’s Sunset Social happens every evening one hour before sunset, with a complimentary sunset shot or toast. On Fridays and Saturdays, Sunset Sessions adds a live DJ in the courtyard from 6-10 pm, giving your happy hour an evening soundtrack.

The beach’s new go-to brunch
If your ideal beach day starts considerably earlier than 3 pm, Sundrop has that covered, too. Brunch is served daily from 7 am – 3 pm, with unique spins on classics that make it worth getting out of bed a little earlier. We recommend you pair them with a Bloody Mary.
Their Meyer Lemon-Glazed Pancake comes with honey butter and blueberry compote, finished with delicate flecks of grated orange peel that make the plate almost too pretty to dig into. Their Avocado Toast is another work of culinary art, topped with a poached egg, Manchego, tomato and piquillo.

More than just brunch and happy hour
There’s more to Sundrop than cocktails and pretty plates fit for a museum. The restaurant and courtyard also hosts a rotating lineup of experiences throughout the week, so there’s usually another reason to stop by.
On Wednesdays and Fridays at 3 pm, you can join Sundrop’s Rum Tasting Experience, where you can sample two rums aged on-site. The experience includes a rum from Old St. Pete Distillery, plus Sundrop’s own Coconut Rum that’s currently aging in-house.
And if you’re looking for a slower start to the weekend, free beach yoga is offered every Saturday and Sunday at 9 am. And on the third Friday of every month, a live cigar roller sets up in the courtyard, where cigar smoking is permitted.

From sunrise to Sundrop
With creative plates, gorgeous cocktails, a beachside setting, and events happening throughout the week, Sundrop feels less like a standard eatery and more like an oasis with good vibes.
You might come for the Meyer lemon-glazed pancakes or a martini and fries, but don’t be surprised if you end up lingering here through the sunset. From sunrise to Sundrop, your meal is only the beginning here.
