Shibui, a high-end Asian fusion concept, announces June grand opening in downtown Tampa

Rendering of Shibui Tampa, a new Japanese restaurant opening in downtown Tampa in the fall 2019.

Back in July 2019, the Nocturnal Hospitality Group announced on Facebook that a Japanese restaurant called Shibui would open in the city.

The concept promises to bring Vegas and Miami vibes to downtown Tampa. The restaurant just announced that it will open on June 8.

After months of development, Shibui is closer than ever to officially opening. Now, the restaurant is offering menu teasers to whet local foodies’ appetites.

Items of aesthetic interest include: Sriacha demi glacé roasted chicken;
wagyu beef filet, egg yolk, and soy marinade; shrimp ramen, prawn, Yakitori pork, skewers, and egg noodles; black seabass on Yakitori; and wagyu tartare with a cured yolk.

Other recent teasers include a look at delicious clay pot chicken, curry oxtail udon, tempura prawns, lechon porchetta, and pork spare ribs adobo.

Shibui officially began hiring back on January 24.

According to the rendering, the concept will open at the corner of North Franklin and East Cass Street in downtown Tampa.
