The Lunar New Year is almost here, and the city of Tampa is ready to celebrate. A Dragon Dance and Lunar New Year Festival is set for February 6 in Water Works Park in Tampa Heights.
This event is presented by the Suncoast Association of Chinese Americans. Lunar New Year marks the beginning of the year of the tiger. Festivities run from noon until 3pm.
In addition to live entertainment, this event will feature spectacular food vendors. Water Works Park is located 1701 N Highland Ave.
Lion Dance returns to a top Tampa restaurant
One of the top Vietnamese restaurants in the entire state of Florida will host a Lion Dance on February 6 as well.
Thinh An Kitchen & Tofu (8104 West Waters Avenue) will host a special event in their parking lot at 9:30am on February 6. The community is invited to attend — and then of course treat themselves to authentic Vietnamese cuisine.
Seriously, everyone needs to experience their Vietnamese Shrimp and Pork Belly Crispy Pancake. They also have 11 different Banh Mi sandwiches on their menu, and specialize in tasty fresh tofu (even carnivores will love these flavorful cubes).
Ahead of both of these events, Armature Works will play host to a Lunar New Year celebration on January 30 at noon.
The event, presented by Zukku Sushi, will consist of cultural performances with a dragon dance, taiko drums, and those in attendance can grab a lucky red envelope for a chance to win gift cards and prizes.
Armature Works is located at 1910 N Ola Avenue.
