The Cross-Bay Ferry made major waves when it announced it would run year-round between downtown Tampa and the Port of St. Pete at 250 8th Ave SE. Enjoy scenic trips this winter, spring, summer, and fall with departures from the Tampa Convention Center at 333 S. Franklin St. The vessel operates Wednesday through Sunday, providing a convenient way for residents and visitors alike to explore both cities.

The ferry is one of the best date-night options in the region. Even a short round trip to St. Pete and back around sunset is marvelous. There’s nothing quite like being a passenger seat princess with gorgeous water views. You can grab beer and wine on board and choose a seat inside, on the front, or on the top of the ferry. In a boost for Tampa Bay Lightning fans, the ferry will also run for all home games during the 2025 NHL season—making game nights easier without the hassle of traffic. For Lightning games on Mondays and Tuesdays, the ferry will follow its Wednesday and Thursday schedule, with departures from St. Pete starting at 4:45 p.m. Key game days include Jan. 28, Feb. 4, Feb. 25, March 4, March 17, March 25, and April 15. In addition, the ferry will extend its hours on Feb. 23 and April 13 to accommodate game nights. Postseason home games will also see ferry service, with dates subject to change.

A sweet ride around Tampa Bay

he Cross-Bay Ferry’s fare structure is designed to be accessible. Adults can enjoy a round trip for $24, while seniors (65+) and military personnel pay $22. Students with a valid college ID ride for $22, and youth (ages 5–18) can ride for $20. Those using wheelchairs can travel for just $10, and children under 4 ride for $2.

The ferry departs from the Port of St. Pete and the Tampa Convention Center. The looper trolley in St. Pete will pick up guests arriving at Port St. Pete, just like last season. Meanwhile, those arriving in Tampa can utilize the Tampa Streetcar and the Tampa Riverwalk to explore multiple parts of the city.

The vessel offers both indoor and outdoor seating and includes a bar serving beer, wine, and snacks. It’s also dog-friendly, so you can bring your furry companions along.
