Over Easy is a fresh way for people in Tampa to connect

The idea behind Over Easy is simple: create a fresh way for people to connect while supporting small, independent businesses. Ferrell Alvarez, Chef Partner at Proper House Group, shared the inspiration behind the series.

“We wanted to create something different and fun for our community while supporting our friends who own small businesses,” Alvarez said. “Over Easy is all about bringing people together in a unique way that aligns with Alter Ego’s vibe—social, creative, and always a little unexpected.”

A laid-back happy hour at Tampa’s best cafes

The launch event at We Vegan Cafe proved the concept works. “The energy was amazing—like a laid-back happy hour, but on a beautiful Saturday morning,” Alvarez said. “It felt effortless, with great people and an atmosphere that made it easy to connect and enjoy the moment.”

Daytime dance parties and coffee raves are gaining traction worldwide. Over Easy taps into that movement, offering a fresh alternative to late-night outings. “There’s something energizing about starting the day with music and community,” Alvarez explained.

Local businesses join forces for creative events

Choosing the right venues for the series was all about relationships and atmosphere. “We hit up our friends who own coffee shops and simply asked if they’d be down to host,” Alvarez said. “The right fit comes down to good energy, a welcoming space, and people who share our passion for community-driven events.”

With its mix of caffeine, culture, and carefully curated beats, Over Easy is redefining Tampa’s social scene—one coffee-fueled dance party at a time. Don’t miss the next pop-up.
