Big Guava has teased our taste buds for months, and now it’s officially serving Tampa. This shop’s menu includes delicious items like dark chocolate coconut waffles, strawberry, mango, and pineapple juice refreshers, and bursting boba energy tea. It’s a little labor of love located at 3936 W Hillsborough Avenue.
While the concept serves up hot tea, healthy oats, protein donuts, and super sweet coffee, it’s the fruit packed açaí bowls that reign supreme as the must want item. Owner Elizabeth Almaguer has worked tirelessly to welcome new customers into her shop. It’s one of the main tenants of being a small business owner here in Tampa.

If you follow The Big Guava on social media, you’ve probably already seen her TikToks. In addition to being our new favorite sweet spot, The Big Guava is also a great spot to post up and get some work done. PS when we say they serve coffee, we mean strong, delicious Cuban coffee. 
Big Guava whips up Cuban coffee and Belgium waffles
Almaguer recently showcased her cafe’s banana nut muffin shake, and we are drooling. The Big Guava is pouring sweet energy Monday through Friday from 7am-2pm, and Saturday from 9am-2pm. Hours may be extended as they advance out of their soft opening stages.
The doors quietly opened on January 17 of this year (just in time for Gasparilla). “We have met so many amazing new friends in the last few weeks of our soft opening!,” wrote Almaguer. “Thank you for becoming our regulars already!! The Big Guava is turning into Central Perk more and more.” 
If this city of Tampa were to have its own Central Perk, then of course it would offer up Cuban coffee.
