Audiences can relive the magic of the film in high definition on a 40-foot screen while The Florida Orchestra performs every note of John Williams’ unforgettable score to picture live on stage. The Harry Potter Film Concert series launched in June 2016. The series continues to enchant the world with remnants from J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World.

The tour will go to 35 different countries through the end of 2018. Justin Freer, president of CineConcerts and producer/conductor of the Harry Potter Film Concert Series explains, “The Harry Potter film series a once-in-a-lifetime cultural phenomenon that continues to delight millions of fans around the world. It is with great pleasure that we introduce for the first time ever an opportunity to experience the award-winning music scores played live by a symphony orchestra, all while the beloved film is simultaneously projected onto the big screen.”

Company has brought a litany of cinema classics to life through music

This isn’t CineConcerts first major endeavor. Past productions include The Godfather, It’s a Wonderful Life, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Star Trek: The Ultimate Voyage, and Gladiator. The concert takes place on September 30 at 7:30pm inside Morsani Hall at the Straz Center. Tickets go on sale Friday, May 12 at 10am online, and noon at the box office.

Due to overwhelming demand, TFO and Straz Center have added two additional performances — September 29 at 7:30pm and October 1 at 2pm. Visit the Straz Center website for tickets.

This isn’t the only announcement to make major waves for Straz Center in 2017. Sometime in 2018/2019, the Broadway sensation Hamilton will hit the their stage.
