World Car Free Day returns to Tampa on Saturday, Sept. 20, with a massive community bike ride and a full day of activities that spotlight safe, sustainable transportation. The annual event, hosted by Walk Bike Tampa Bay, runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and celebrates cycling, walking, and public transit as alternatives to cars.
The timing coincides with the City of Tampa’s ongoing efforts to expand bike paths throughout downtown, extend the Riverwalk into West Tampa, and make the city more accessible for cyclists and pedestrians.
