The City of Tampa is finishing what the first Superman-Batman crossover event started. The entire region has been rife with collaborations among big names the last year, and the newest ought to be among the most in-demand yet.
Bern’s Steak House and The Blind Goat are joining forces for what may be the most thoughtfully-prepared chicken wings in the city. The two announced a Bern’s-inspired chicken wing special available at The Blind Goat (4106 Henderson Blvd) for one week only, September 6-12.

Like the food itself, the description is a mouthful. The flavor inspiration comes from Bern’s famous onion rings (what aren’t they famous for?), as the chicken wings are dry-rubbed in the Bern’s signature onion ring spice blend. If that savory start wasn’t enough, they will be served with the late Chef Chad Johnson’s “Larceny BBQ Black Truffle Ranch.”
The result is effectively an entire appetizer platter served in one dish, with the best flavors of two local stars on display every time that wing gets dipped into the ranch. The Bern’s team recommends pairing it with a Jai Alai IPA from Cigar City to round out the local flair.
Like many collabs, we expect this one to sell quickly. Fortunately, there will be more available every day. The wings will be available on a first-come, first-served basis each day of the run at Blind Goat, with supplies limited. Presuming they have enough dry rub and ranch, the limit here is more about how many wings they can comfortably stock and cook, so you probably don’t need to worry about getting there early. That said, playing it safe is a perfectly valid excuse to have chicken wings and Jai Alai for lunch.
The Blind Goat opens for lunch and dinner beginning at 11:30 am Wednesday-Sunday and 3 pm Monday and Tuesday. No time parameters appear to be set on the crossover wing special, which will be available Sunday, September 6 through Saturday, September 12.
