Nestled in the heart of Hyde Park Village, On Swann has been one of Tampa’s never-misses since opening in 2016. When our team headed there for lunch last week, we did what we do best: ordered what felt like half the menu.
And no, we’re not exaggerating by much.

We kicked things off family-style with short rib empanadas with Manchego and aji and ajo salsas, saffron arancini with chorizo and Manchego, a pizzette and the Mediterranean board. The Mediterranean board packs all the excitement of a charcuterie, but along with incredible dips, pickled veggies and pita bread that turn it into a full experience. Why order one appetizer when you can turn the entire table into a tasting menu?
Then came the mains. We covered pretty much every lunch mood with salmon, the BLT, steak frites and, naturally, truffle fries for the table.
Of course, no trip to On Swann is complete without its famous Kale Salad. Loaded with black quinoa, Brussels sprouts, bacon, corn, tart cherries, pecans and ricotta salata, there’s a reason this one has remained a fan favorite for years.
And since team lunch is always better with a little cheer, we added rosé and spritzes to the mix, including the rosé special which is a $30 bottle of select rosé available every Saturday and Sunday brunch. Consider it team bonding.
Nearly a decade in, On Swann still feels like one of those quintessential Tampa spots that works for just about anything: lunch with coworkers, brunch with friends, date night or a celebratory dinner.
The verdict from our team? We came hungry, ordered half the menu and were quickly reminded why On Swann remains one of Hyde Park’s best gems.
