Excitement swept through the USF Bulls’ team meeting room on Tuesday as coaches and players learned they’ll be heading to the Hawaii Bowl for the first time in program history. The Christmas Eve matchup will take place on December 24 at 8 p.m. EST, with the Bulls facing San Jose State at the Ching Athletics Complex in Honolulu.
The game, one of the most-watched Christmas weekend bowls, will be broadcast nationally on ESPN. For fans dreaming of a tropical holiday, tickets are available for current season-ticket holders here.
Under head coach Alex Golesh, the Bulls clinched bowl eligibility for the second straight year, finishing the 2024 regular season with four wins in their last six games. This marks the Bulls’ 12th bowl appearance, with an impressive 7-4 record in previous games, including a dominant 45-0 victory over Syracuse in last year’s Boca Raton Bowl.
Traveling to Hawaii is a historic milestone for USF, marking the farthest the team has ever traveled from Tampa—more than 4,200 miles.
The Hawaii Bowl selection highlights USF Football’s rapid growth under Golesh. Recent milestones include the completion of a state-of-the-art indoor practice facility last year and groundbreaking for a new on-campus stadium this fall. With back-to-back top-ranked signing classes in the AAC, the Bulls are positioned to reclaim their place on the national stage.
