River Jam is described as a "100 Year Block Party," arriving on May 3 at Riverhills Park

Temple Terrace turns 100 this year, and the city is throwing an unforgettable birthday bash to mark the milestone. The centerpiece of the celebration is River Jam, a brand-new, high-energy music festival happening May 3 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at scenic Riverhills Park (329 S Riverhills Dr).

This free, family-friendly festival delivers live music from some of Tampa Bay’s top local bands, mouthwatering food trucks, and vibrant art displays—creating a can’t-miss day of fun along the Hillsborough River. River Jam invites the entire community to grab a chair or blanket and soak up the good vibes while celebrating a century of Temple Terrace history and pride.

Temple Terrace announces first-ever River Jam

While the centennial year will include many beloved annual events, River Jam stands out as a must-attend party that sets the tone for the months ahead.

To keep the event smooth and safe, organizers encourage residents to walk, bike, or cruise in by golf cart. For those coming from outside the area, free shuttle lots will be available across the city from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Shuttles will run continuously and drop guests off right at the entrance—no stress, no long walks, and no hunting for parking.

100 years of community

Temple Terrace has come a long way since Bertha Palmer purchased the land in the early 1900s. Originally a hunting preserve, the city became home to the world’s largest orange grove in the 1920s, famous for its Temple oranges. Mediterranean Revival architecture and a historic golf course listed on the National Register of Historic Places still define the charm of this tight-knit community.

Now, 100 years later, Temple Terrace is ready to celebrate its rich past—and launch into its next century—with a party that promises unforgettable memories.
