The Sound, Tampa Bay’s most exciting new performance venue, hosts job fair ahead of opening

One of the most exciting new entertainment venues in the state is set to be unveiled this summer as The Sound at Coachman Park nears the grand opening of its 9,000-person outdoor performing arts venue in Clearwater. The project has been years in the making, and The Sound itself is the crown jewel of the 25-acre development.

As the massive new facility nears its opening, The Sound is hosting a gigantic job fair this Saturday, May 13, with on-the-spot interviews from 10 am to 1 pm at the Bilheimer Capitol Theatre located at 405 Cleveland Street in Clearwater. Walk-ups are welcome, though job seekers are strongly encouraged to apply in advance through their website.

Part-time positions are available in a variety of areas including security, food & beverage, events services and ticket office. Roles The Sound is hiring for include bartenders, bar backs, bar/concession supervisors, concession stand workers, beer vendors, security guards, event staff/event staff supervisors, customer service representatives and ticket office supervisors.

A slew of great concerts and events are already lined up for this summer, prime opportunities for new hires to gets hands-on experience. From the July 4 fireworks celebration with The Florida Orchestra, to Taking Back Sunday, Ringo Starr, Goo Goo Dolls, and John Fogerty, The Sound is expected to be an immediate and a must-visit destination this summer and beyond.

Designed to connect the waterfront and the Downtown Clearwater community, Coachman Park’s renovations include 19 acres of park space, a gateway plaza and bluff walk that connects the park to downtown, public art spaces, a pedestrian promenade overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway, a marina amenity building, a 320-foot scenic lake overlook with solar-powered rentable pavilions and a pirate-themed playground area with a splash pad.

The Sound is the highlight of the park’s redevelopment. The addition of this venue will allow the city to continue with its downtown redevelopment goals and establish the area as a premier location for diverse live entertainment, with a year-round performance schedule.
