Day of Discovery at Florida Aquarium
Join the Florida Aquarium for their 5th Annual Day of Discovery in partnership with the Center for Autism and Related Disabilities at the University of South Florida and Autism Speaks Tampa Bay. The event is an opportunity for families with sensory disabilities, like Autism, to experience the aquarium in a way that is just for them. 3rd Annual Seminole Heights Pop-Up Market
Celebrate the eclectic character of Seminole Heights! This indoor and open-air market features products such as handmade jewelry, letterpress cards, screen printed t-shirts, vintage treasures, up-cycled home goods, dry succulent gardens, artisanal jams, locally farmed products and more. The event runs from 10am-2pm. Watermark Church, 6608 North Central Avenue.

Mayor’s Mac and Cheese Throwdown at Curtis Hixon Park
It’s that time of year again! Things are about to get exceptionally cheesy downtown. Prepare to throwdown with your jaw on the ground during the Mayor’s Mac & Cheese Throwdown in Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park. Participating venues include Amalie Arena, Bavaro’s, Big John’s Alabama BBQ, Cook’s Kitchen, Daily Eats, District Tavern, The Franklin Manor, Skipper’s Smokehouse, Mortar & Pestle, Holy Hog BBQ, Hot Mess Cafe and more! The event will also feature live music, craft beer and wine vendors and fun activities for all ages. Runs from 3-7pm. FREE and open to the public. Curtis Hixon Park, 600 North Ashley Drive.

Epic Night Run at Florida State Fairgrounds
Prepare for a color, inflatable, obstacle, foam run at the Florida State Fairgrounds. This 5K features neon lights and body paint to create a run unlike you’ve ever experienced before. The event will also feature live music. The fun goes from 4-10pm. Tickets are $45. Florida State Fairgrounds, 4800 U.S. 301.

Best of Tampa Bay at Straz Center
Join the Straz Center for Tampa Bay’s biggest food and drink extravaganza, Best of Tampa Bay. This event benefits the Straz Center and its art education programs. Enjoy live music from five local bands, full open bar, and tons of food. Anise, Bizou, Bella’s Italian Cafe, Kahwa Coffee, Square 1 Burgers, Mini Doughnut Factory, Urban Cantina, The Revolution Ice Cream Co., Columbia Restaurant and more will be serving the best local bites and drinks you’ve ever had. Beach Presents Journey 2 SMF
Get ready for Sunset Music Festival at Beach Bar | Restaurant. They’re bringing out a giant waterslide and the sounds of Winta, Nate Verde, and Christian Alexander. Free entry on the guest list from 2-5pm. Sign up on their Facebook Event Wall. Doors open at 2pm. Beach, 7700 West Courtney Campbell Causeway.

3rd Annual Tampa RiverFest – May 6-7
This year’s Tampa RiverFest will be unlike any event you’ve experienced before. Festivities include a hot air balloon showcase, paddle board invasion, Secret Walls Graffiti event at Straz Center, a hot dog eating contest, a dachshund derby, live music, pops in the park and so much more.  Tampa Bay Margarita Festival – May 27
Celebrate sunshine and good drinks at Curtis Hixon Park on May 27! The Barenaked Ladies are set to headline this event that will feature some of the top tequilas in the world. Take part in a margarita run, enjoy pop-up food concepts, games and whole lot more. The event goes from noon-11pm. Click HERE to learn more and to purchase tickets.
