Tampa Bay indie music fans are being fed this summer! Between the Phoebe Bridgers release party and Turnstile headlining right here in Pinellas Park, there’s yet another music event to look forward to. Artists are getting the hint that Florida music fans are here to stay and want to be included in every tour lineup.
Steve Lacy is going on tour for his newest album, Oh Yeah?, and he’s making two Florida stops, including a performance at the Yuengling Center on Wednesday, October 28, at 8 pm. Tickets for the show are on sale now.

Steve Lacy is a critically acclaimed singer and songwriter who dabbles in different genres but specializes in R&B and guitar-centric music. He started out in ‘The Internet,’ a band that he joined at just 17 years old. As he branched out, he gained popularity after his appearance on a TED Talk where he showed his method of making beats was simply by using an old iPhone.
As his fans impatiently waited four years for the new album, it’s proving to already be a timeless piece of art with ‘Pure Colour’ having a generationally adored artist Erykah Badu featured, ‘Show You Me’ being arguably one of the most vulnerable songs in Steve’s discography, and ‘Oh Yeah’ being used in the newest Spider-Man movie’s credit scene.
I had the pleasure of seeing Steve for his ‘Gemini Rights’ tour in 2022 at Atlanta’s beautiful venue, the Tabernacle, with Fousheé as the opener. Although it’s unspecified if there are openers for this tour yet, stay tuned. It’s a great way to hear new artists.
C’mon c’mon c’mon (album joke)! Even if you don’t listen to his music, Steve Lacy is such an important artist of our time who demonstrated that you don’t need fancy tools and the newest technology to execute and succeed in your craft.
