It’s a big week for soccer in St. Pete as the Tampa Bay Rowdies have two key games at Al Lang Stadium over the next several days. In the span of four nights, the Rowdies will fight to advance to the semifinals of the Prinx Tires USL Cup in a do-or-die Wednesday night matchup and then take the field again on Saturday to defend their spot at the top of the regular season USL standings, all as the playoffs grow nearer.
The action starts on Wednesday, August 12, at 7 pm as the hometown team takes on Louisville City FC in the quarterfinals of the Prinx Tires USL Cup. The Rowdies have been absolutely on fire in the tournament, which includes all 42 professional USL teams. Through four games, the Rowdies have outscored opponents 10-1, dominating the opposition and setting themselves up as one of the favorites to bring home the hardware and win the cup. The matchup against Louisville will be the toughest one yet, with the Rowdies relying on the home crowd for the extra juice. Tickets are available here.

Then, on Saturday, August 15, the lads are back in action at Al Lang with a key midseason tilt against Rhode Island FC. That game, which kicks off at 7:30 pm, is also the Rowdies’ Back to School Night, with local schools back in session this week. To welcome parents and students alike back to school, they’re offering a family four-pack deal for the game, with each ticket in the pack running only $12 each. After this week, the Rowdies will only have five more regular-season home matches before the 2026 USL Championship playoffs begin. As it stands now, the Rowdies would start the playoffs as the No. 1 overall seed, guaranteeing a home match in St. Pete to open the playoffs. With 41 points and a 12-5-2 record, Tampa Bay is seven points ahead of the next closest team, and one of only two squads with double-digit wins in the 2026 season.
