Miami’s first and favorite artisanal donut shop, The Salty Donut, will open its first Tampa location on Friday, September 15. The shop will open at 1519 W Swann Avenue in the bustling Hyde Park Village.
The exciting milestone will be celebrated with giveaways throughout the opening weekend (Friday, September 15 – Sunday, September 17). The first 50 guests each day will receive a limited edition gift bag including a limited edition Tampa tote bag, postcard, stickers, and special swag.

To further the opening excitement, Tampa residents can register to get a sweet preview prior to opening. The Salty Donut is hosting a pre-opening lottery system which Tampa locals can enter through this online form for their chance to win a sneak preview of The Salty’s Hyde Park location and a complimentary box featuring their staple menu items. There will be 50+ winners selected per day for the special experience. Winners will be notified via email and pickups will begin on September 9th.
The Salty Donut prepares for big Tampa debut
The Hyde Park store will offer the signature, decadent treats that have created the cult-like following as well as some store-specific flavors and items inspired by the neighborhood and using homemade and locally-sourced ingredients.
“Being Florida-founded and based, Amanda and I have been traveling all over the state since we were little kids! As we made our way to expand throughout the state, we knew as soon as we went further north, we had to do Orlando and Tampa/St. Pete,” says Andy Rodriguez, CEO of The Salty Donut. “After many, many trips visiting and eating/drinking our way through the market, the vision became pretty clear and we knew we HAD to be in the bustling and polished Hyde Park Village.”

As with every location of The Salty Donut, the Hyde Park Village store is uniquely designed to connect with the community by drawing inspiration from the surrounding neighborhood and city’s history to include local influences and motifs. The location in Hyde Park Village has been designed to fit the chic neighborhood in an authentic way and features custom built in booth tables along with the storefront being pushed back to create an outdoor living room feel facing Swann Avenue while giving the space definition.
Year-round donuts you need to try
The opening menu will feature Year-Round Donuts, Seasonal specials, Baked Goods and Coffee & Drink Offerings. The Salty will offer walk-up orders, pickup and delivery through The Salty’s rewards app and website. New users to the app will receive a free donut or coffee upon signing up and will begin earning loyalty points toward future perks as well as getting on the list for insider information, VIP event invites and more.
Three must try signature donuts:
- GUAVA & CHEESE: 24 hr brioche filled with swirled guava + cheese, cream cheese glaze, topped with tiny pieces of pastelito pastries.
- BROWN BUTTER & SALT CAKE: vanilla bean cake donut, brown butter glaze, topped with maldon sea salt.
- STRAWBERRY TRES LECHES: 24 hr brioche piped with fresh strawberry jam, soaked in 3-milks, bottom crusted with valrhona white chocolate & finished with torched cinnamon infused meringue.
