Live music and good brews thrive in Ybor City
Ybor City has anxiously awaited the official opening of Rock Brothers Brewing. The Attic, a live music venue above the brewery, began hosting concerts late in 2016. On Friday, Jan. 13, Rock Brothers makes its official debut at 1901 North 15th Street with a weekend-long grand opening celebration.
Rock Brothers bring together the best local artists in Tampa
On Friday, Jan. 31 Florida’s own Thomas Wynn and The Believers will perform live on the Attic stage. The doors to Rock Brothers tasting room will open at 6pm that day and the concert doors open at 7pm. Other artists performing are Vagabond Gita, Will Quinlan, Lauris Vidal, Geri X, Ella Jet and Have Gun, Will Travel. Aside from performing their own original music, the artists will also perform covers of Rock Brothers Brewing partner artists, which include Hootie and the Blowfish, Rebelution, JJ Grey and 311.
The concept began in Georgia and blossomed in Florida
The Rock Brothers concept began as an idea in Atlanta, GA and came to fruition at the zenith of Tampa Bay’s craft beer boom. The founders, and brewing partners at Cigar City Brewing see a synergy between music and fine craft beer.
“Music and beer have a lot in common. Both require hard work and commitment to create and both are born from the overlap of craft, art and passion. The opportunity to bring music and beer together with Rock Brothers was just too cool to pass up.” –Joey Redner of Cigar City Brewing
Their brews include a Nothing Too Fancy pale ale inspired by Umphrey’s McGee and an Amber Ale, which pays homage to 311. The tap room is currently open with limited hours.
