This is a singles night where you’re guaranteed to find a forever love. Local stars Mercy Full Project and Hotel Haya have joined together to host Tampa’s first-ever Pitch A Pup mega-adoption event with more than 50 dogs, a pet-friendly twist on the popular dating events. Unlike human dating events, we can assure you that every participant here will be a 10 out of 10 on the cute meter.

The experience takes place this Saturday, June 13, from 10 am to 12 pm at Hotel Haya (1412 E 7th Ave), and admission is simply a $5 donation to the Mercy Full nonprofit animal rescue. You can reserve your space here. Doors open at 10, with pitches beginning at 10:15 with live speed dating-style pitch presentations.

So, how does it work? Mercy Full Project staff will be on hand with a literal hotel full of adoptable pups, introducing them to individuals and families, and sharing what makes each dog special. They’ll help you learn each adoptable dog’s personality traits, tell you about its ideal home, and give you a chance to meet them and see if they might just be your new best friend.

There will also be light refreshments for attendees, or you can check out Hotel Haya’s wonderful Café Quiquiriqui for a coffee and bite. There will also be photo ops as part of the experience, as well as raffles and giveaways throughout the two-hour event.

Pitch A Pup is a come-and-go style event, so there’s no pressure to arrive at a specific time. Whenever is good for you and anyone else who would be welcoming the new family member, stop by for some tummy rubs and life bios.

Pitch A Pup is also a low-pressure event. Mercy Full is using the event as an opportunity for people to meet the dogs with no expectations of taking one home. If you’re serious about adoption, you can find a great pup. If you’re on the fence and want to see what it’s all about, this is a low stakes way to meet pups and get some more information.

Worst case, you helped support a valuable local nonprofit and got to snuggle and play with dogs in the process. That’s up there for the best $5 you can spend in Tampa. We’ll call that a win no matter what happens.

Learn more about Pitch A Pup and register to attend here. In the meantime, you can also find all of their currently adoptable dogs here.
