The second round of the Guy Fieri hype train is well underway, as the Food Network star’s visit to Tampa in April is slowly hitting the airwaves. Cousin Vinny’s Sandwich Co. is getting its star turn on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives this Friday, July 10, at 9 pm on the Food Network.
Cousin Vinny’s is an easy pick for Fieri, who gravitates toward approachable-yet-impressive spots across the country for Triple D. The low-key exterior at Cousin Vinny’s belies the flavors within. Walking by on the street, you might not expect to find a Michelin Recommended meal inside, but one bite of their cutlet sandwiches will quickly show you why they keep earning accolades and attention.

If you’re planning to sneak in for a quick visit before the Guy Fieri hype train results in lines out the door every day, our top picks include the Tony Piccante, featuring crispy chicken cutlet, vodka sauce, cheese, and roasted red peppers, and the tomato and mozzarella sandwich, a simple yet standout choice.
While many restaurants famously get overcrowded following an appearance on the show, Cousin Vinny’s is well-placed to handle the extra traffic. Before Fieri even visited, the local sandwich shop had started working on a second location across the bridge in St. Pete. Doubling their footprint at a time when demand will be higher is excellent, if unintentional, timing.
Cousin Vinny’s will be the second local restaurant to air on this season of Diners, Drive-Ins and Drives, after Supernatural Food & Wine had its episode premier in May. Follow Cousin Vinny’s on Instagram to see more from Fieri’s visit (and to get daily doses of sandwich beauty).
