Huge concerts continue to arrive in downtown Tampa

At just 24 years old, Peso reigns as the king of corridos tumbados, a fresh take on traditional Mexican music that has surged in popularity recently, according to the New York Times. Blending elements of contemporary hip-hop and reggaeton, Peso infuses his singing and rapping with modern flair, while staying true to the roots of the genre in his production. His unique style has propelled him to great success, carving out a niche in the music scene with a sound that resonates with audiences far and wide.

Peso Pluma hails from the outskirts of Guadalajara, Mexico, with teenage stints in New York and San Antonio, Texas. Born on June 15, 1999, he immersed himself in music during his formative years, mastering the guitar through online tutorials. While his debut album, ‘Ah y Qué?’ in 2020, didn’t make waves, his third endeavor, ‘Genesis,’ soared to No. 3 on the Billboard 200 in July 2023. That same year, he made his mark on the Hot 100 with hits like “Ella Baila Sola” (No. 4) with Eslabon Armado and “La Bebe” (No. 11) with Yng Lvcas, collaborating with talents like Bizarrap, Junior H, and Becky G along the way.
