New Gin Joint Brings Southern Charm with an Edge to Franklin Street

Tampa has its fair share of stylish craft cocktail spots. The Hotel Bar helped to elevate our city’s expectations when it comes to spirited libations. CW’s Gin Joint will raise the bar again when they officially debut at 633 North Franklin Street.

CW’s brings elegant 20s & 30s vibe downtown

CW’s will offer a blend of comfort and elegance that will give a nod to the 20s and 30s when the The Exchange National Bank, The Vault, was the financial epicenter of downtown. The initials CW stand for Carolyn Wilson, the proprietor and designer behind the gin joint. Wilson worked exhaustively to gather the finest cocktail and hospitality talent in the city to the gin joint.

Master mixologist Dean Hurst — renowned for his work with Bern’s and Haven — has meticulously designed a spirit program sure to wow visitors. Accompanying the spirits will be a concise wine and beer list. There will also be a menu of to-be-announced lights bites.

An introduction to the Gin Matrix

Visitors will be introduced to the Gin Matrix. The creative minds behind the concept hope to define gin as a category in an easy-to-digest way — for both the staff and as a guide for visitors. The Gin Matrix places a select amount of gins onto a grid with the hopes of demystifying the category and opening up a conversation.

The owners expect to open as early as June of this year. Once open, Wilson and company hope to deliver an establishment brimming with southern charm that also exudes a Tampa edge. Follow CW’s on Facebook for updates on events and an official opening date.
