Strawberries are starting to grow. That’s right, December in Florida means its time to get outside and enjoy those iconic Sunshine State strawberries. Hunsader Farms, located at 5500 Co Rd 675 in Bradenton, is officially open for u-pick strawberries Monday through Saturday from 8am-4pm and Sundays 10am-3pm.

U-pick strawberries are $3 per pound. Visitors can bring their own containers or use the farm’s box lids. Guests must sign in at the Produce Market before entering the fields.

Friendly reminder that dogs are not allowed in crop U-pick fields. Hunsader is a family-owned operation, and the property includes a petting zoo and a full playground for kids and families ($12 per person). The petting zoo features cows, lambs, donkeys, peacocks, and goats. Hunsader also added a new Tiny Town that’s getting rave reviews from visitors.

The Farm Market includes the tastiest fresh-grown fruits and veggies you’ve ever tried, in addition to homemade jams and jellies, homemade honey, and more local goodies.
