Hole in One Donuts is one of the loveliest local businesses in the Tampa area. Only recently prolific muralist Jujmo added a mural inside the local confections hub to brighten the space. On March 24, the Kim family announced that Hole In One’s owner, Rom Kim, passed away.

“It is with great sadness that we announce that our owner, Rom, has passed away due to a heart attack. He was a beloved friend, brother, husband, father and an amazing grandfather,” writes Rickey Kim on the Hole In One Donut’s GoFundMe page.

“At this moment there is no certainty if we will reopen or when we will reopen…We ask everyone to please respect our family’s privacy during this hard time.”

The business has been in the Kim family for nearly 13 years, according to the GoFundMe page. “We are starting this Gofundme to help pay for funeral costs and to help our family during this difficult time.” Those interested in donating can do so online.

It’s long been heralded as one of the best donut shops in the state of Florida. Our thoughts remain with the Kim family. You can check in for updates on the fundraiser page, and their Instagram.
