Florida’s first snow park, Snowcat Ridge, releases initial renderings

Rendering of a snow park with a steep hill and snow dome.

It’s a total blizzard of emotion. I grew up in CT, and at different points in my life lived in upstate New York and North Jersey. Now I’m in Florida, partly because I wanted nothing to do with winter; however, that doesn’t mean I don’t miss some of those winter sport perks. Introducing Snowcat Ridge, a brand new snow park that provides all the fun of a snow day without the bitter cold, dry skin, and scraping ice off your windshield.

Slated to open in November 2020, the one-of-a-kind alpine snow park – Snowcat Ridge – will feature a massive snow tubing hill, Alpine Village and a ten thousand square foot snow play dome. That’s right, next year you could have a white Christmas in Florida.

So what can guests expect?

There will be a steep snow tubing hill measuring 60-feet tall and 400-feet-long, with a magic carpet lift that will whisk riders and their snow tubes to the top of the hill.

You don’t have to go it alone. Guests can ride in a single, tandem, or 6-person family tube to slide down the snow-covered slope.

“Our team has been working very hard over the last few years to bring our alpine snow park to reality.” says Benjamin Nagengast, CEO of Snowcat Ridge. “Snowcat Ridge will be unlike anything anyone has seen before in the Sunshine State and we are incredibly excited to unveil our vision for the new alpine snow park today.”

There’s going to be REAL SNOW inside of the snow dome. None of that mint green soapy stuff (articulate, right?) often associated with snow events in Florida. Guests can build snowmen and snow castles inside.

The snow dome will also include a child-sized snow hill for younger guests.

“Some folks think it’s impossible to experience snow tubing and the joy of snow in Florida, but our team is all about making the impossible, possible.” says Mark Bremer, Creative Director of Snowcat Ridge. “The new alpine snow park will be unique in all regards and our team is thrilled to be launching in November 2020.”

Snowcat Ridge will also feature a magical light show during the evenings on both the snow hill and inside of the snow dome.

It’s a winter wonderland, y’all. Snowcat Ridge will be located at 27839 Saint Joe Road in Dade City. You can find more information on Snowcat Ridge’s website.
