‘Brewsology’ beer festival brings 50 breweries to Tampa’s Museum of Science and Industry

Think of it as a middle school field trip meets a night out at a brewery. The Brewsology Beer Festival is coming to Tampa as part of its national tour, setting up shop after hours at the Tampa Museum of Science and Industry on Dec 11th from 7-11 pm.

The festival will feature 150 different craft brews from 50 (fifty!) local breweries, while also allowing attendees access to everything MOSI has to offer, including exhibits, science demonstrations and even the chance to chat it up with brewery reps.

Breweries big and small from around the area will be showcasing specialty beers for the occasion, including Tampa favorites like Hidden Springs, Coppertail and BarrieHaus, as well as regional stars like MIA Beer Company, Oviedo Brewing, Funky Buddha and Darwin Brewing. And of course, there will be plenty of St. Pete staples like 3 Daughters, Green Bench and Pinellas Ale Works. Brewsology will even host a handful of cideries and wineries dishing out the good liquid.

Brewsology tickets allow guests to experience all MOSI has to offer

Anyone who grew up in the area has likely been to MOSI one or four times on a school field trip and can attest to the museum’s description as “a scientific playground” with more than 100 hands-on activities. Those who stop in for a night at the museum can see the stars in The Saunders Planetarium, explore another world in the NASA-funded Mission: Moonbase lunar colony, and even touch the future in Connectus.

You can also step into a virtual reality simulator and take a walk on the International Space Station, or slide back through time and visit the dinosaurs in the Dinovations Lab. And yes, you can drink beer with a dinosaur skeleton (no touching allowed, of course).

And if you get hungry (space exploration can work up quite the appetite), you can grab something tasty to eat from the smorgasboard of food trucks on site, including The Lobster Tank, St. Pete Taco Lady, Bubba’s Q and Slider Guys.
