Once a hidden gem, AJ’s Press has become a Tampa staple thanks to its prominent place on Yelp’s Top 100 Restaurants list. The recognition is well deserved.

Their iconic hot pressed sandwiches have earned them a litany of 5-star reviews from Yelpers, Facebook users and TripAdvisor personalities. The Orlando Sentinel reports that Andy Hesman plans to open an AJ’s Press in Longwood (182 West State Roads 434, No. 1008); the space is expected to open sometime in August.

Biz started by Greg and Jill Lynn in 2015

The local, family-owned business was started by Greg and Jill Lynn in 2015. Their menu, which features myriad pressed sandwiches and hearty bowls, is filled with flavorful quirk. The classic pressed breakfast sandwich — egg, sharp cheddar, chipotle mayo — is a morning must. The braised brisket bowl is sure to satiate even the most famished customer.

If your palette is looking to explore, we recommend you experience the bold jalapeno hush puppies and the sizzling mojo pork bowl — juicy Mojo roasted pork, Monterey Jack cheese, dill pickle, smoky mojo oil. It wouldn’t be a visit to AJ’s without capping off your visit with one of Tyler’s fresh baked chocolate chip cookies.

Serving savory breakfast and lunch

The space for tasty eats is open Monday through Friday, from 8am-4pm, at 4406 North Cortez. Make plans begin your day with the Elvis PRESSley — bourbon caramelized bananas and peanut butter — and end your day with AJ’s fresh strawberry lemonade.
