Food festivals are flavoring downtown Tampa. The city has enjoyed will success with past food/drink-themed events including the Watermelon and Taco Festival, the Mac and Cheese Throwdown, Margarita Festival and Tater Tots and Brews Festival. This October, residents are invited to chow down at the inaugural Tampa Bay Wing Fling in Curtis Hixon Park.
The event, hosted by Big City Events and the Wing Fling Community, has already generated 1.1k interested attendees on the Facebook event page. Wing Fling is set to take place on Saturday, October 21 at Curtis HIxon Park on the waterfront.

Before the Wing Fling, it’s the Summer of Rum
For those eager to enjoy a celebration at the waterfront park, consider attending the Summer of Rum Festival on September 2; this event is also put together by the prolific coordinators at Big City Events. Live performances by Shaggy and The Baha Men will accompany an afternoon of exquisite rum tastings.
Whether its a Frozen Daiquiri, Pina Colada, Rum Runner, Cuba Libre, Dark & Stormy, or a Rum-a-Rita; the Summer of Rum Festival will have all your favorite summer time drinks. A limited number of collectible Hurricane cups will be distributed during the festivities.
Festival moves to Curtis Hixon Park
General admission gives you access to the Summer of Rum Festival with all day re-entry privileges. Enjoy live entertainment on the main-stage, explore the unique rum zones, rum shacks, and games, and more while you sip on drinks bursting with bold flavor.

Once inside, rum drinks are available for purchase from one of the many featured rum shacks. GA tickets range from $15 for presale, to $25 at the gate the day of the event.
VIP ticket holders enjoy unlimited rum drinks inside their own tent. The VIP Tent will feature prime views to main stage, decorated tent/shade area, bars to serve VIP ticket holders only, some seating area, and a cooled air-mist system. Tickets are $85 presale, $95 early, $115 advance and $125 at regular price.
