The Beach Tampa at Amalie Arena (August 5)

Prepare to splash in a sea of imagination. The Vinik Family Foundation and Snarkitecture introduce The Beach Tampa. The Beach Tampa is 15,000 square foot immersive environment featuring an “ocean” of 1.2 million recyclable and antimicrobial white balls. Will be open from August 5 and runs through August 25. The Innocents at Tampa Theatre
Based on a true story, The Innocents interrogates the nature of religious belief in the context of tremendous hurt and tragedy, and highlights society’s expectation of women to both maintain the perception of their purity and to bear the weight of the world’s treatment of them. Leisure Chief and Wild Root at Skipper’s Smokehouse
Leisure Chief is an original music collective, dedicated to crafting vibrations for the soul, the mind, and the booty. Influenced by the culture and foundations of funk, soul, jazz, r&b, hip hop, and latin… they groove for the enjoyment of all music lovers. Wild Root is a high energy blend of soul, rock and funk group from the Tampa Bay Area. Begins at 7pm. $7. Skipper’s Smokehouse, 910 Skipper Road.

Zumba in the Park at Curtis Hixon

Wednesday, August 3

Mayor’s Food Truck Fiesta at Lykes Gaslight Park
Mayor’s Food Truck Fiesta is a monthly event to show support for the food trucks in the City of Tampa. Event provides an opportunity for Tampa Bay Area food trucks to showcase their food to Tampa’s Downtown. Tampa’s Downtown Partnership places a small set up in Lykes Park consisting of tables and chairs where guests can enjoy their food truck lunch. 11am-2pm. Bamboozle Fit Club at Curtis Hixon
Get your fit on in Tampa! The fit club meets up at 6pm. Free and open to the public. Curtis Hixon Park, 600 North Ashley Drive.

Comedy in the Raw Open Mic at Tampa Improv
Join the improv comedy theater every Wednesday night for their standup open mic. Space is limited to 15-20 comics. Each will be given 5 minutes of stage time. Must be 21+ to attend. Improv Comedy Theater, 1600 East 8th Avenue.

Reggae Night with Jahfari at Skipper’s Smokehouse
Jahfari is an eclectic mix of musicians trained in the art of Jammin’! This five piece band plays a wide range of reggae genres from ska to rock steady, and roots reggae to dancehall. Coming from the far reaches of the globe this quintet brings international flavor to every show. Rock the Park with Four Star Riot and Extra Celestial at Curtis Hixon

Gruesome at New World Brewery
Gruesome, Hideous, Meatwound, Disevered and Grave Ascension bring hardcore sounds to New World Brewery. Doors open at 8pm. $12 in advance, $15 at the door. New World Brewery, 1313 8th Avenue.

Grateful Dead Nite with Uncle John’s Band at Skipper’s Smokehouse
Uncle John’s Band was formed in 1989 in Clearwater Florida from a combination of talented musicians who love to play the music of the Grateful Dead. The purpose of Uncle John’s Band is to recreate the atmosphere and musical adventure of a live Dead show. 8pm. FREE. Skipper’s Smokehouse, 910 Skipper Road.

John Heffron at Tampa Improv (Thursday through Sunday)
