Murder for Two at Straz Center
Everyone is a suspect in MURDER FOR TWO a hilarious musical murder mystery with a twist: one actor investigates the crime, the other plays all of the suspects and they both play the piano! A zany blend of classic musical comedy and madcap mystery, this 90-minute whodunit is a highly theatrical duet loaded with killer laughs. The New York Times calls MURDER FOR TWO “an ingenious miniature musical in the form of a snazzy vaudevillian double act.” Performances run through May 1. Click HERE for tickets and showtimes. Grateful Dead Nite with Uncle John's Band at Skipper's Smokehouse
Uncle John’s Band was formed in 1989 in Clearwater Florida from a combination of talented musicians who love to play the music of the Grateful Dead. The purpose of Uncle John’s Band is to recreate the atmosphere and musical adventure of a live Dead show. Over the past many years, Uncle John’s Band has performed hundreds of shows full of musical energy and pleasure for all those who have attended. 8pm. FREE. Island Night with Impulse at Skipper's Smokehouse
For the last fifteen years, Impulse has captivated the hearts of music lovers crossing culture, race and age. The band’s unique style of zouk, calypso, reggae, soca and meringue offer the perfect blend of island sounds for a romantic moment, leisurely hours or jump up. 8pm. FREE. Gasparilla Film Festival VIP Reception and Opening Night Film at Tampa Theatre: Eye in the Sky

Gasparilla International Film Festival (Thursday-Sunday)
Gasparilla International Film Festival features the best in film from local filmmakers in Tampa, to aspring artists from around the world. The festival also lures some of Hollywood's tops stars to Tampa. It's four days of cinema. Screenings take place at Muvico Centro Ybor (1600 East 8th Avenue), with panel discussions happening at HCC Ybor (2112 North 15th Street). The Weight Band — Members of The Band and Levon Helm Band at Skipper's Smokehouse
Replicating the music of The Band is a tall order. But interpreting the music of The Band is an art. Songs that have reverberated across history for decades continue to speak to millions of us. And THE WEIGHT, a five-piece ensemble featuring Jim Weider and Randy Ciarlante from The Band, Brian Mitchell and Byron Isaacs of the Levon Helm Band and Marty Grebb, who worked with Rick Danko and Richard Manuel of The Band, remains a vehicle through which we can continue to share those stories and dance to those back beats. 8pm. $20 in advance, $25 at the door. Of Montreal at The Orpheum
Of Montreal performs live at The Orpheum Thursday night. 8pm. $18 in advance, $21+ at the door. The Orpheum, 1915 East 7th Avenue. 

Shakespeare in the Park: Richard III
Tampa Shakespeare Festival is dedicated to bringing the works of William Shakespeare to Tampa communities in a fun and accessible way. They strive to create productions that are fast paced and enjoyable for the whole family. Tampa Shakespeare Festival’s productions are performed outdoors with minimal technical support in beautiful Waterworks Park. This Thursday they'll put on a performance of Richard III, which centers around the last king of the House of York, the series of ruthless betrayals and lies he uses to ascend the throne, and his ultimate comeuppance. Think of it as a medieval House of Cards. Begins at 6pm. Waterworks Park, 1710 North Highland Avenue.

Nick DiPaolo at Side Splitters Comedy Club
Nicholas Rocco "Nick" DiPaolo is an American stand-up comedian, Emmy nominated writer, actor and radio host. He was formerly the co-host of The Nick & Artie Show alongside comedian Artie Lange.
