We Vegan Eats is a locally-owned and operated vegan bakery, and its delicious treats can be found all over the region in spots such as Kahwa Coffee, Raw Smoothie Co., Spaddy’s, Nebraska Mini Mart, and Black Radish Grocer. They also operate one of the best cafes in Tampa at 4326 South Manhattan Avenue.

The cafe first opened in the summer of 2021 and continues to captivate visitors with their wild array of fresh baked treats (try the dreamy marbled cake and gluten-free brownie), and a concise menu that still manages to pack a major flavor. I just tried the vegan crunch wrap for the first time and it’s everything I ever wanted out of a meal. Their spicy cowboy Mac and cheese also looked incredible.

A few personal favorite desserts to sample include their transfixing Ube Cookies, the classic chocolate chunk cookies, and the pineapple upside down bundt cakes (when available). The matcha lemonade is also one of the most refreshing drinks in Tampa.

The all vegan concept does offer a few gluten-free items, chief among them are the chocolate brownies artfully topped with sweet icing, and the banana nut chocolate chip muffins.

Sandra, the owner, spent more than 20 years as a legal assistant, and had no designs on owning/operating her own vegan bakery. Back in 2017, she along with her partner opted to go on a full plant-based diet. This new venture set Sandra down the path of crafting her own personal recipes at home.

A concept born out of creativity and experimentation

“After playing with recipes and having family and friends and of course kids taste test our cookie we finally discovered what would be today known as the “Classic Chocolate Chunk” cookie,” wrote the We Vegan Eats owner. “We decided to take our cookie to the public in our very first market in Sarasota, Florida in November of 2017 and the crowd seemed to love it and the rest is history.”

Customers can also order online and have these delicious sweets delivered to their door.
