Two Shepherds Taproom closing, becoming board game and TCG shop and event space

The dog days are over. Two Shepherds Taproom, beloved as a dog-friendly 21+ space to have a drink and let the pups play, is ending its run as a dog bar this weekend. In an announcement, owners said it will transition from a dog-friendly bar into more of an event space, as it will also be home to a board games and trading card cafe with a beer and wine bar.

Gambit Games will operate out of the space at 4813 N Grady Ave, but with some significant changes. Dogs and pets will no longer be allowed. However, all ages will now be welcome to stop in for board games and to find some TCG treasures. They will also keep the bar operational with beer, wine, hard seltzers, and NA beverages.

To say farewell, Two Shepherds is hosting a final dog-friendly party this Friday, May 29, from 6-10 pm. “Come grab a drink, let the dogs run, and celebrate one last hurrah with us.”

While we’re sad to see a dog-friendly space close, we’re excited to see the future. Two Shepherds expressed excitement at creating a unique events venue experience, which they are undertaking in tandem with Gambit Games. The space will be available to host parties and events, with Gambit Games remaining open in the meantime.

Gambit Games is hosting grand opening celebrations on Saturday and Sunday this weekend, with board games, food trucks, raffles, drink specials and more.

Two Shepherds shared their appreciation for the community that supported them since opening:

“We’ve had an incredible run, and getting to know all of you and your pups over the years has meant the world to us. Our goal in the beginning was to create a space where people and pups could come together, and we are proud to have accomplished that. We are beyond grateful for the community that has supported us throughout these years.”
